Interview with Tom Shadyac (The Director)...

The video above is of an interview held by Stevie Wong, with the director of "Evan Almighty", Tom Shadyac. This interview is a useful piece of media text as people are able to gain an insight as to why this film was made, and what Tom's ideas were behind some of the scenes used within the film. Within the interview, Tom Shadyac talks about the film giving back to the community, as it somehow manages to portray the current issue of "GOING GREEN" to save the economy, as a result of this issue being raised it would be a good interview for people to watch as it may make them more aware of the current issues that surround our environment in the present day.

He goes onto talk about why he wanted Steve Carell to be cast as the protagonist within the film, and states that he did so because he knew Carell would be able to "carry" a movie after having seen him star as the protagonist in "The 40 Year-Old Virgin". Stevie Wong (the interviewer) goes on to ask Shadyac what it was like working with animals, possibly assuming that he may have said that it was hard, however as the interview goes on Shadyac states that he was comfortable with working with animals as he had done so before when directing the film "Ace Ventura: Pet Detective", and found it somewhat easy.

As a result of having seen this interview, more people will become more aware of the film and may want to see it, which as a result shows that this interview is able to promote the film.
